A disgusting convo with Texas Roadhouse....

This is the full email convo I had with Texas Roadhouse recently. enjoy.

*I and many other people are just disgusted by the fact you and your company are willing to just accept anything you are told as the truth. Police officers who are a neutral party have investigated, and found that the person you are protecting was at fault! This is just sad! Sad that a fairly well known company would accept people like this to give customer service to your customers. Knowing this, you must not care anything for your customers to put them in this kind of danger. No one wants to be around someone who is going to drive this recklessly and have no regard for human life. I am glad that I found this out before one of your employees injured my family or myself.

Thanks, Kymberlei: I am comfortable with the facts. We will agree to disagree. Travis

I was at the trial, the video showed Mr. Huggins DID NOT run a stop sign! Then on top of that information, Mr Willey's own truck computer showed that at the moment of impact he hit Mr. Huggins at 49mph. That is over the speed limit for that road! So please explain to me when he has been convicted of SPEEDING, and VEHICULAR HOMICIDE that you feel this is ok? You really need to find out the actual facts of the case and not just what your employee or his lawyer tells you.

Ms. Truman: Thanks for contacting us regarding the accident that occurred last year in Springfield. There is nothing more sad and tragic than the loss of a life.
Texas Roadhouse does in fact support and appreciate our military, both active and retired, and we are sorry that you do not share that opinion.
Based on the facts from the trial, David Willey was not traveling 70 mph as alleged or driving in a reckless manner. He was traveling between 37 mph and 42 mph. He did collide with Mr. Huggins after Mr. Huggins ran a stop sign.
We do not feel that our decision to keep David employed diminishes the life of Mr. Huggins or our support of the military. It was a tragic accident that has impacted the lives of many people.
We can respect your decision not to support Texas Roadhouse, but we would ask that you please stop alleging or posting “rumors” about this case that are not fact.
Thanks for reaching out to us and voicing your concern. Let me know if you have any more questions. Travis Doster

I have a problem with your company as a whole. You show on your web site and your facebook page that you support the troops. I do not see how this is when your Springfield Ohio store employs a manager/partner, David Wiley. Mr. Wiley was just found GUILTY of vehicular manslaughter and speeding yesterday (11/15/2012) that resulted in the death of an Iraq Vet! Your manager was speeding (police figured 70mph in a 35mph) 2 blocks from your steakhouse. He proceeded to slam into a car killing a war vet on impact! I will tell everyone I know, strangers and everyone who reads my blog, yelp, facebook and twitter accounts how you employ people like this. Until this issue is corrected, I will make it my personal job to tell everyone who will listen to me. Please restore my faith in your bussines, DO NOT employ people who are criminals!!

*@*@*@* It is just sad that a place like this would just take the criminals word for it as to what happened. Not the word of police officers, or video that was taken during the crime. After searching the net and finding out that this is not the first time that this company has made such horrific decisions about their policies and employees I am just glad that I and others I have spoken to will not EVER go there again.
It is probably for the best, I do not want to be injured by one of there criminal employees anyway!

  1. It sickens me that Travis Doster and Texas Roadhouse can condone this man's actions!

  2. Mrs Truman, you should probably get your facts straight, Mr Willey was not found guilty of vehicular homicide as you stated in your email above. Mr Willey was found guilty of vehicular manslaughter and speed but the judge ruled that he was not being careless or wreckless. Look it up, its public record. I'm sure the situation is very difficult for both families, you should probably have some more compassion

    1. I am sorry you are correct I miss stated. It was manslaughter not homicide.

As for compassion, I do have it for the war vets family, not for some lowlife who wouldn't even own up to what he did. Willey and his family deserve everything that they get for him not being a man and accepting responsibility for what he did.

    2. I will pray that you find something constructive to do with all of your free time that you aparently have. I know Mr Willey to be an upstanding person and like I said before, I'm sure this situation is very difficult for both parties. Not sure how you would re act if you were in his shoes, but from what I hear, the city should've never filed the more serious charges. If you really think Mr. Willey was speeding at that high of a rate, maybe you should be more upset with the police department for not making their case, not for Mr. Willey defending himself.

    3. Nothing else to say? Humm, I guess his "defenders" are not much to sneeze at. ROFL!

  3. I am doing something constructive, making sure everyone knows that Mr. Willey has been convicted of manslaughter. I like telling people how this man pled not guilty to something he knew he did. How there was proof he was doing a minimum of 15mph over the posted limit. I also love telling people the rumors I have heard about this "upstanding" man and his place of business. Unfortunately our justice system isn't exactly what I think it should be, but thankfully I have the right to tell people my point of view on the whole thing! :) So if you don't like my opinion, guess what, that's your right!! Have a wonderful day!! :)

  4. Let's see, you have an individual whom makes a decision to break the law by driving without Insurance. This "friend" of yours should not have even been on the road. In addition to that, he made his second mistake by running through a stop sign. I'm not sure which court room you ended up in that day, but no one saw you and everyone saw two videos that were presented. 1) from the prosecution that was a blurry mess and you could not make out anything. the 2nd was presented by the defense, this was a different video from another angle and clearly shows your "friend" running through the stop sign. But since your "friend" had a lapse of judgement twice that day, he changed the life of another family forever. Not only does Mr Willey have to live knowing that he was involved in an accident that wasn't his fault and resulted in the loss of a life, but now has to pay for your "friends" lack of respect for the law. Again, it is illegal to be on the road without insurance and it is illegal to run a stop sign. Also, if you were indeed in the courtroom, you would have seen that the video did not show anyone else in front of Mr Willey when the accident occured, so your statement is false when you say he "darted out around someone". You have many incorrect statements in your blog and you should take some time to report on the facts rather then getting involved in something you have no knowledge of. Also, if you were in the courtroom you would have heard the judge explain why he found him guilty of vehicular manslaughter. The judge said "Because Mr Willey could have been travelling 36 in a 35 mph zone, he is found guilty." Now, many of use do not understand the reason for the ruling, but that is another issue. Criminal charges should only be enforced when there is someone is found guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Well as many of us witnessed ourselves, it was just as likely that Mr Willey was travelling 34 as if he were travelling 36, so there is a reasonable doubt that he was not speeding at all. And it was clearly proven that he was not travelling at an excessive amount of speed, it is not physically possible for the truck Mr Willy was driving to go from 0 - 80 in that short of a distance. Also, if you want to mention the computer from the truck, you should mention that in .02 seconds of time, the computer showed the truck going from 50 to 0. Again, that is physically impossible unless he ran into a brick wall that would have stopped the truck instantly. So again, you should get your facts straight before you are looking at lible charges.

  5. I did listen to the police and the judge, not to the lawyer that you seem to like to quote. He was found guilty! (Cheering heard from all around!) I am pretty sure the judge wouldn't of put him in jail if it hadn't been Willeys fault. The judge even noted that Mr. Willey has a DOCUMENTED problem with speeding in excess of 15 MPH over the speed limit with all of the speeding tickets he has received. Mr Willey has a problem and I hope that his time spent in jail and without driving privaliges will get threw to him.

  6. I'm glad you have so much faith in our justice system. The judge wanted to bring up a speeding violation that occured 14 years ago. All I can say is, I am glad this world still has the upstanding citizen who does so much good for this community and is still with us today and will be here tomorrow. Unlike your "friend" who chose to drive without insurance and break the law. Your friends' actions are the reason he is not with us today and he is the one that caused any grief for his family and friends. Also, because he chose to not carry the proper insurance on his vehicle or his life, his family is feeling the burden.

    1. There was more than one speeding violation, but I forgot for some reason Willey defenders only seem to hear and see what they want. Point is he killed a man because he was speeding. Do not pass go, do not collect 200$, go straight to jail! Right where he belongs. I feel sorry for you that the only way you can cope with your friends problem is to blame the dead. Mr. Willey is a repeat offender when it comes to speeding... it was just a matter of time before he killed someone. Now he must pay the piper. I hope that you too can learn from your friends mistakes and try to become a better person.

    2. Funny how you talk about the court proceedings like you were there. But fortuntely for us, you weren't and that is made very clear by your comments. Whomever is feeding you info, is incorrect on numerous levels.

    3. If you agree or not it is mute, Mr. Willey has been sentenced! He was found guilty! My heart was filled with joy when the judge read the verdict. I am so sorry for you and your understanding of how things happened. I am always sad to meet a person that has so much trouble with understanding others. Maybe one day you will be able to understand all that went on in the courtroom, but at this moment in time it isn't important to me or anyone else that you seemed to miss most of the facts.
